Manx Loaghtan wins Gold Taste of the West Award

The prestigious Taste of the West awards is normally the province of conventional animals, but this year we were all delighted that one of our members won a Gold Award for Loin fillet of Manx Loaghtan lamb, submitted for the member via The Devon Meat Company whose excellent butcher, Wayne, prepared the meat. As with all good meat the value comes from good breeding, animal husbandry, humane slaughtering, hanging and then good butchery - get any part wrong and you could ruin otherwise excellent meat.
